How to assign a shortcut key to a command
You can assign shortcut key to a command that you use frequently. This saves the time required to invoke the command. This example shows how to assign a shortcut key (H) to the Hole command. You can use the same sequence of steps to assign shortcut keys to other commands in NX.
1. Create a new file using the Model template and accept the default file name.
2. Right-click the Ribbon bar and choose Customize.
3. In the Customize dialog box, click Keyboard.

4. In the Customize Keyboard dialog box, under the Categories list, scroll down and expand the Insert node and select Design Feature.

The Commands list on the right, displays all the commands available for the item selected in the Categories list.
5. Under the Commands list, scroll down and select Hole.

6. In the Press new shortcut key box, type H.
7. From the Use new shortcut in list, select Global.
This ensures that the new shortcut key can be used in all the NX applications.

8. Click Assign. Notice the Current keys: table shows the new assignment.

9. Click Close twice.
10. To invoke the Hole command, press the H key.
The Hole dialog box is displayed.

11. Close the dialog box and the part file without saving it.
