Introduction:

• This FAQ contains notes on setting up an (Early) Feature Access and assigning it as the SITE default for NX1980 series and previous versions.  In this example the Sketch solver is used.

Requirements:

• You must have a version of NX installed

• You must have SITE level permission

Step By Step Process…

Creating a Feature Access Configuration File

1. In NX session select File→Utilities→Early Access Features

2. In the dialog box that opens find the sketch entry, or type sketch in the search bar.

3. <Right-Click> in the ‘State’ Column and turn option On

‍

4. This creates an updated feature_toggle_user.fcg file in C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Local\Siemens\NX_Version folder

5. Copy this file to the network location that you will be using for all users to access via your SITE defaults.

Setting SITE Customer Defaults

6. Select FILE→Utilities→Customer Defaults

7. In the Dialog Box that opens set Defaults Level to SITE (it typically opens as User as seen in the image below.

8. Under the Gateway section, choose General, then select the Miscellaneous tab.

9. In the Early Access Features group (should be check marked already) assign a path to the centrally located fcg file using the Browse button.

10. Select Apply/OK and exit NX

11. Restart NX to check that the new Sketcher Feature is disabled, and Old Sketcher is being used for all users.
