Solid Edge Quick Tip - How to control what is displayed as the Solid Edge start page
1. Launch Solid Edge Options by using one of the following methods.
• From the startup screen or File menu, select the Settings tab >> Option command.

• Or, from within a modelling or draft environment, select the Option icon from the Quick Access menu.

2. When the Solid Edge Option dialog appears, select the Helpers tab.
3. The first section at the top of the Helpers tab is the Starting Solid Edge section. Here you can specify what you want to display as the Solid Edge start page.

The following is a brief description of each of the available options:
Start with the Discover page - Contains tabs for the Start, Discovery Center, and Learn pages.
• The Start page helps you get started with Solid Edge. This page contains links to an introductory video, tutorials for understanding the basic capabilities of Solid Edge, and a link to a video overview of the Solid Edge user interface. You can also use the links on this page to create new Solid Edge documents.
• The Discovery Center page hosts user assistance tools, tutorial videos, opportunities to try new applications, and more, all in one location.
• The Learn page hosts links to learning tools, tutorials, Try It activities, a link to What's New in the current release, and it opens Solid Edge 2024 Help.
Start with the New page - Displays the New page when Solid Edge starts. Use this option when you want to create different types of documents, or when you are creating or updating templates.
Start with the Open page - Displays the Open page when Solid Edge starts. This page provides fast access to your recently used files list and to pinned documents. You also can browse for files and folders.
Note: The Open page is displayed by default when no documents are open in Solid Edge and either of the following options is selected.
Start with a Blank page - Does not display any page or document when Solid Edge starts. This option provides a spacious, uncluttered canvas for an experienced user.
Start with my last saved document - Like a bookmark, opens Solid Edge with the last document you saved displayed in the application window, ready for work. You can use this option when you are making frequent changes to the same document.
Start with a blank document using this template - Opens Solid Edge in the appropriate environment with a new document based on the template selected in the adjacent list. You can use this as your start page when you are creating models or drawings.
Note: The templates listed are based on the standard that was selected during Solid Edge installation. To change the template, use the File menu→New page→Edit List... link.
