Solid Edge Quick Tip - How to save a Solid Edge document as a 3D Adobe PDF

You can save Solid Edge assembly, assembly weldment, part, and sheet metal documents in the 3D Adobe Portable Document Format with the Save As command. This creates a copy of the file with a .pdf extension. The Solid Edge document title, author, subject, and keyword properties are saved with the new PDF document.

The save the document as a 3D PDF file, do the following:

1. On the File menu, click Save As tab→Save As command.

2. In the Save As dialog box, select the folder for the new document.

3. (Optional) In the File name box, type a new name for the document.

4. From the Save as type list, select 3D Adobe Acrobat Documents (*.pdf).

5. Click Save.

The 3D PDF file is saved and can be opened with the Adobe PDF reader.

Note: The legacy Weldment (.pwd) format is not supported.
