A good practice when using deployment center to deploy custom BMIDE package is to add the BMIDE output folder to the Deployment center repositories.

This practice saves time and reduces the amount of file manipulation required to update the Teamcenter environment substantially.

In the following example the output folder is C:\Siemens\TC14\tc_root\bmide\workspace\14000.0.0\df4demo\output\wntx64\packaging\full_update

‍

We also need the deployment center webserver folder, C:\Siemens\DeploymentCenter\webserver.

‍

We can find the Deployment center maintenance batch file, in the Install media folder for DC. C:\DF\DeploymentCenterMedia\deployment_center

‍

And finally, we need the DC username and password.

‍

Steps to follow.

1. Open a command prompt. Run Deployment Center in maintenance mode:

o Windows systems: deployment_center.bat -maintenance

o Linux systems: deployment_center.sh -maintenance

Add the following required arguments to the command:

• -serverDir (required)

Specify the full path to the existing directory for the Deployment Center installation.

• -user (required)

Specify the username for the Deployment Center administrator to validate the change.

• -password (required)

Specify the password for the Deployment Center user to validate the change.

Since we are adding a repository directory, specify these parameters:

·      -addSoftwareDir

Specify additional paths to software directories for the repository. Paths are separated by commas (,).

‍

You may specify local file system paths or UNC paths. Mapped drives are not supported.

‍

For network locations, specify the username and password.

After successful executions, re-log in DC and select the Software Repositories icon.

And validate that our extra software directory is listed under Extra Software Directories.

And now our published BMIDE packages are available for deploy directly in DC environment, without any file manipulations.
